  • "How much does a garden design cost?"

This depends entirely on the overall size of the garden and how complicated the changes are that you want to make. As a rough guide the cost of a small, simple garden design starts from £500 for a complete Presentation Plan. Please see my Design Process page for more information on the steps involved in a complete garden design service.

  • "Which areas do you design gardens for?"

I am based in Harrow, Middlesex, but I take on landscape or garden designs in many parts of the South East including Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and surrounding areas. Please contact me for enquiries regarding my garden design service in your area.

  • "Will you build the garden or do you just design?"

Once I have designed your garden I can recommend top quality garden landscapers to implement the design, but equally if you already have contractors in mind that you would prefer to use I am happy to liaise with them instead. This flexible approach to garden design enables me to monitor the project throughout, to ensure client satisfaction. I also provide complimentary quarterly follow-up consultations for one whole year after the garden has been completed.

  • "What sort of gardens do you design?"

All my garden designs are individually tailored to satisfy your own needs and tastes. I Design modern gardens, traditional gardens, naturalistic gardens, formal gardens, eco gardens and even school gardens. Whatever your requirements, as a Garden Designer I can make your garden work for you and your home. Please visit my Portfolio and Before & After pages for examples of my design work.

  • "How much input will I have?"

As much or as little as you wish. Once I know exactly what you are looking for in your new garden design I can then get on with creating your ideal garden. If you are keen to be actively involved in the design process this can be easily arranged.

  • "What if I don't like the design?"

I make sure right at the beginning of the garden design process that I am clear about your tastes and requirements. My main role as a garden designer is to problem-solve and to produce a design that will personally work for you and your home. At key stages throughout the garden design process I will meet with you and discuss all aspects of the design so that you can make any alterations or changes where necessary. I am always contactable by phone or email to address any concerns you may have, and therefore satisfaction is guaranteed.

  • "Do I need to sign a contract?"

Yes. Once I have met you, viewed your garden and discussed your requirements with you, I will write up a detailed brief of everything that will be included in your new garden design. Included with this brief will be a quotation for the design work. If you agree with everything outlined in the brief and the accompanying quotation you will then need to sign the enclosed acceptance form. This contract ensures that I fulfil the brief and complete all the garden design work as specified; you will pay me the amount stated in the quotation.

  • "Why are there so many steps involved in creating a garden design?"

These various steps, from Initial consultation to planting plans, ultimately ensure that you are happy with the finished result. Your new garden will be perfectly suited to you and your family, long lasting and maintainable, and will add value to your house and home. It is the garden design process that makes all of this possible.

  • "I have children - will their safety needs be properly met?"

Yes. Health and Safety is always a consideration when designing a garden and where children are concerned precautions are always integral. For example: garden water-features are chosen with safety in mind; any significant changes in level are carefully designed to prevent falling; and only non-toxic plants are chosen for the garden.

  • "Do you work all year round?"

Yes. Planting is generally only advisable in Spring and Autumn when the weather and soil conditions are most suited to plant establishment, however, garden design work can be carried out at any time of the year and construction work at any time, weather permitting.
